Capt. Kurtel, upon graduation from Istanbul Technical University, worked on board several types of vessels for 7 years holding a Master Mariner license. Capt. Kurtel holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Transportation from Istanbul Technical University. Capt. Kurtel worked as Claims Handler and Claims Manager in a private P&I correspondent company more than 7 years and handled numerous P&I and H&M related claims before establishing VEF MARINE.
